The two-day Mardi Gras celebration in Covington’s Mainstrasse kicks off Friday (Feb. 16) with the Big Head Parade on Main Street. Saturday night will be the Grande Parade on Main Street. Both parades will start at 8 p.m. and will head down Main to the Entertainment Tent in Mainstrasse Village, where music will be provided by The Websters, with Cajun food by Shiska Haus. The festivities will continue until 1 a.m. at the tent – and longer at the MainStrasse bars. Baubles and beads will be available at MainStrasse Village businesses and also at the Goose Girl Fountain and the Mardi Gras Entertainment Tent.
Tickets for the 16th Annual 96Rock MainStrasse Village Mardi Gras are $10 per night if purchased individually or $15 in advance for both nights. Advance tickets will be on sale through Thursday, Feb. 16 at www.mainstrasse.org, at Cock & Bull English Pub, Pachinko and Strasse Haus or by calling the MainStrasse Village office at 859-491-0458. Tickets may also be purchased at the event.
Only 6,000 tickets will be sold for each night. You must be 21 to purchase a ticket.
